Gexa Energy Lowers Wind Power Prices

Gexa Energy has reduced the price of its renewable energy power plan by as much as 14%, a move the company says is designed to make wind power more affordable for consumers in Texas.

Gexa Green, the company's 100% wind power plan, now is priced at $0.115 per kWh in the CenterPoint service area $0.112 per kWh in the TXU service area, $0.11 per kWh in the AEP Texas central service area and $0.116 per kWh in the AEP Texas north service area.

‘This is another huge step in the promotion of renewable energy,’ says Gexa Energy's Collin Coker, who adds that the new pricing levels are among the lowest offered for renewable energy on powertochoose.org. ‘There has always been a strong interest in wind-generated power, but most customers were unwilling to pay the higher price. We anticipate these new price points will generate significant interest among those looking to support the development of renewable energy, which ultimately makes it more affordable for use in their homes.’

Coker explains that Gexa Energy is able to offer the new pricing due to its status as a subsidiary of FPL Energy.
