Scottsdale, Ariz.-based TPI Composites Inc., a global, independent manufacturer of composite wind turbine blades, has announced an extended supply agreement with GE.
GE has agreed to extend its supply agreement for one of TPI’s Mexico plants by two years to 2022. The number of manufacturing lines will also increase from three to five.
In addition, GE has agreed to transition to a larger blade model in TPI’s Iowa plant in early 2019. GE will also eliminate its option to terminate its supply agreement in Iowa prior to the December 2020 expiration.
