Gamesa USA, a subsidiary of turbine manufacturer Gamesa, has announced the appointment of Rashid Abdul as senior vice president of corporate affairs and assistant to CEO Julius Steiner.
In this role, Abdul will serve as executive secretary and member of the Gamesa USA governing management board, which comprises senior executives who guide Gamesa's U.S. operations. Abdul also will oversee corporate communications and business risk control, assist with government and public affairs, and lead social responsibility programs throughout the U.S.
Abdul is a former board member of the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) and previously served as chairman of AWEA's transmission and legislative committees, and continues to serve as a member of these committees.
‘Rashid has nearly 30 years of experience in the energy sector, making him a perfect fit for Gamesa,’ says Steiner. ‘His background will be invaluable as Gamesa works to expand the reach of sustainable wind energy in the United States.’
