Gamesa has announced it will showcase the newest additions to its 2.0-2.5 MW platform, as well as unveil the Gamesa WindNet PRO application, at the WindEnergy Hamburg trade fair. The event is taking place Sept. 23-26 in Hamburg, Germany.
Gamesa is attending the event with its new wind turbines: the G106-2.5 MW and G114-2.5 MW. The models, designed for high and medium wind speed sites, come with a longer blade (106 meter and 114 meter, respectively) and a higher nominal capacity of 2.5 MW. Gamesa says the new machines produce 30% more power than their 2 MW predecessors and lower the cost of energy by 10%.
The company will also unveil Gamesa WindNet PRO, an advanced version of its production-optimizing wind farm control and monitoring software. This tool upgrades Gamesa's existing SCADA system WindNet, which is operational at 140 wind farms.
With a new interface, the Gamesa WindNet PRO will provide users with more intuitive and user-friendly browsing, the company says. It comes in three different configurations depending on the size of the wind farm: Gamesa WindNet PRO Advanced (facilities with more than 25 turbines), Gamesa WindNet PRO Light (between five and 25) and Gamesa WindNet PRO Ultralight (fewer than five).
