Florida Governor Names Energy Action Team

Gov. Charlie Crist, R-Fla., has made his appointments to the Florida Governor's Action Team on Energy and Climate Change. The team will consist of 21 members and is charged with developing Florida's Energy and Climate Change Action Plan, according to the governor's office.

Appointments to the Governor's Action Team on Energy and Climate Change include Michael W. Sole, chairman of the Department of Environmental Protection; Lisa Edgar, chairwoman of the Florida Public Service Commission; Sen. Jeff Atwater; Sen. Al Lawson; Rep. Stan Mayfield; Rep. Dan Gelber; Jack Shreve, senior counsel to the governor; Manley Fuller of the Florida Wildlife Federation; David Guest of Earthjustice; Debbie Harrison of World Wildlife Fund; Gerald Karnas of Environmental Defense; Charles Pattison of 1000 Friends of Florida; Jerry Montgomery; Mark Kaplan; Kathleen Shanahan; Tommy Boroughs, chairman of the Energy Commission; Dr. Lonnie Ingram, professor of microbiology, Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, University of Florida; Camille Coley, executive assistant vice president for research, Florida Atlantic University; Dr. James Fenton, Florida Solar Energy Center, University of Central Florida; Armando Olivera, president, FPL Group; and Tallahassee Mayor Rick Baker, vice-chairman.

Sole will serve as chairman of the action team, the governor's office adds.
