Taaleri, a financial services company based out of Finland, is setting its sights on the North American renewable energy market.
Overall, Taaleri plans to make investments in wind and solar projects in North America, as well as Europe, India and Africa, but notably, the firm aims to launch $600 million worth of wind projects in the U.S. and Canada over the next few years.
“We believe that the projects will advance most quickly in Canada. For example, the wind power market in the province of Alberta is attractive,” says Juhani Elomaa, CEO of Taaleri.
Specifically, wind conditions on Alberta’s prairie, which makes up most of the province, are particularly favorable for wind power production, the company notes.
In September, Taaleri established an energy segment, focusing primarily on renewable energy projects. Taaleri also has cooperation agreements with Wärtsilä and ABB.
