Florence, S.C.-based ESAB Welding & Cutting Products has introduced the PowerCut 900 manual cutting package, which is designed to make cutting easier and more economical by simplifying operation, reducing setup time and enhancing consumable life, according to the company. The 60-amp PowerCut 900 cuts 7/8 inches and severs 1 1/4 inches.
PowerCut 900 offers high speed and thickness capability. Through a combination of long parts life, high speeds and simple torch design, the PowerCut series offers lower costs, according to the company.
PowerCut 900 also offers a quick disconnect torch that disconnects from the machine without the need for special tools. A digital readout display shows the exact pressure or amperage and help codes to assist in troubleshooting minor errors.
The new PowerCut packages also come with a three-year warranty and an option to purchase an extended warranty for a total of five years.
In addition, the company has added two additional wires to its Dual Shield X-Series flux cored wires. Dual Shield X wires high deposition rates, fast travel speeds, flat-bead profile, limited spatter and easier slag removal, says the company.
Dual Shield 810X-Ni1 is an all-position 1% Nickel flux cored wire for general purpose welding of low alloy steel. It is designed for use with 100% carbon dioxide (CO2) and can be used for welding on CORTEN steel in applications where weathering grade wires are not desirable.
Dual Shield 710X-M is an all-position flux cored wire for general purpose welding of mild steel. It is designed to be used with a 75/25 argon/CO2 gas mix, but pure CO2 may also be used.
