ESAB Welding & Cutting Products has added two new wire drawing lines at its Ashtabula, Ohio, manufacturing facility. These new lines will produce wire for high-production submerged arc welding applications.
The new lines are designed to descale, clean and draw the wire to the proper diameter, coat it with copper and package the product. The wire from the new lines will be used in coil and drum packages, including ESAB's newest package, the 2,200-pound EcoCoil. The new lines will also produce wire with a cleaner and more consistent surface, according to the company.
ESAB has also added conventional and self-aligning rollerbeds to its line of automated handling equipment products. These new rollerbeds are available in North America and replace ESAB's previous turning roll products. ESAB Canada will stock the new rollerbeds at its Mississauga, Ontario, and Edmonton, Alberta, warehouse facilities.
These rollerbeds, which can be used in wind tower fabrication and offshore applications, are grit-blasted with a polyurethane finish coating to endure abrasive environments. They also feature solid-state inverter technology for precise speed control to ensure welding accuracy.
The rollerbeds are available in a variety of sizes and driver/idler rail bogie versions for a broad scope of applications.
