ESAB Welding & Cutting Products has released column and boom manipulator solutions that increase welding deposition rates, provide consistent weld quality and increase operator safety for applications such as wind tower production. The company says its new telescopic boom is the latest innovation in automated welding technology.
According to the company, its new telescopic boom offers more flexibility in plant design, increased workplace safety, and increased welding efficiency and accuracy. It is available in two standard sizes: 26.2-foot reach from column center and 21.3-foot working range; and 39.3-foot reach from column center and 31-foot working range.
In addition, the telescopic boom requires significantly less rear clearance because of its three-section, telescope-like retraction of the boom, which also results in quick retraction times.
The company has also added new conventional and self-aligning rollerbeds to its line of automated handling equipment products. These new rollerbeds are available in North America and replace ESAB's previous turning-roll products. ESAB will stock the new rollerbeds in the U.S. and Canada to ensure on-time delivery for North American customers.
These rollerbeds are grit-blasted with a polyurethane finish coating to endure abrasive environments. They also feature solid-state inverter technology for precise speed control to ensure welding accuracy. The products are available in a variety of sizes and driver/idler rail bogie versions for a broad scope of applications.
