Whoa, that didn't take very long: After setting a record in the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) region in late November, wind power reached a new high in the grid operator's footprint on Dec. 20.
According to ERCOT, wind generation achieved a new output record of 13,883 MW and topped 44.7% of load served. That beats the last wind record of 12,971 MW, which was set on Nov. 25 and accounted for almost 37% of ERCOT's overall load at the time.
