Chardon, Ohio-based EGC Enterprises Inc. has announced the beginning of initial production of the RotaBolt tension control fasteners for the U.S. wind energy market. EGC is the North American licensed manufacturer of U.K.-based James Walker RotaBolt.
RotaBolt fasteners are specified for a number of critical wind turbine bolted joints due to their ability to deliver highly accurate tension control at installation, as well as tension monitoring throughout the life of the bolted connection.
By monitoring fastener stretch, RotaBolt allows operations and maintenance crews to achieve and maintain +/-5% tension accuracy by means of instant bolt-tension maintenance checks, according to the company.
