The executive board of directors of Energias de Portugal S.A. (EDP), a Portuguese utility, recently resolved, after general and supervisory board's favorable prior opinion, to prepare a potential initial public offering of EDP Renovaveis S.L., an EDP group for renewable energies that holds the subsidiaries NEO Energia and Horizon Wind Energy LLC.
Further details on EDP Group strategy regarding the renewables sector will be released to the market and to the public during EDP's Investor Day on Renewables today.
In July 2007, EDP acquired all of the share capital of Horizon Wind Energy from Goldman Sachs.
