EDF EN Mexico, a subsidiary of EDF Energies Nouvelles Group, has appointed Gerardo Perez Guerra vice president and general manager.

In this position, Perez Guerra will provide strategic leadership to the development company and assume responsibility for the overall operation of its renewable energy project portfolio and day-to-day operations.

Perez Guerra joins the company from Acciona Windpower, where he held the position of director and led the deal structure and negotiations of projects in Mexico and Central America. Prior to Acciona, he was employed for 23 years with Siemens Mexico, serving in the role of business director for the Mesoamerican Energy Market for 13 of those years.

"It is with great pleasure that we welcome Gerardo to the EDF EN family," says Tristan Grimbert, president and CEO of EDF EN North America. "His overall energy business development expertise and proficiency in relationship management with industrial sector companies, off-takers, and government entities is essential to the future growth of activities in Mexico. We look forward to his leadership."

Present in Mexico since 2001, EDF EN Mexico has over 700 MW of wind power facilities in operation or in development.
