Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.-based Energy Composites Corp. (ECC) has appointed Derek Johnson sales engineer for its WindFiber division. He will be responsible for establishing responsive, sustainable relationships with major wind farm integrators and turbine manufacturers in the U.S. WindFiber, ECC's wind blade fabrication division, is planning to build a new 535,000 square-foot, advanced-blade manufacturing facility in Wisconsin Rapids.
Before joining ECC, Johnson served as North American service manager for LM Glasfiber, where he led the development of its service division.
ECC's WindFiber manufacturing facility is expected to have a 1,500 MW production capability and is scheduled to open in 2011.
