Deepwater Wind has added two renewable energy executives to its team. Offshore engineer and project manager Chris van Beek is the company's new managing director of chief of technology, projects and operations. In his new role, van Beek will manage all project-related construction activities.
Before joining Deepwater Wind, van Beek served as executive vice president and chief operating officer for Heerema Marine Contractors, based in the Netherlands. At Heerema, he was involved in all aspects of offshore oil and gas marine construction, including engineering, operations, procurement, contracting, equipment management, planning, logistics and project management.
In addition, Aileen Kenney joins Deepwater Wind as director of permitting. In her new position, she will oversee all federal and local permitting application development for the company's projects.
Kenney previously served as national director of wind energy at Tetra Tech EC Inc. in Boston, Mass., where her responsibilities included leading the consulting company's wind energy program. Her expertise has supported the siting, design, permitting and construction of more than 50 renewable energy projects nationwide.
