Danotek, a manufacturer of permanent magnet (PM) generators and power converter systems, has announced it is growing its portfolio with the addition of large PM generators for low- to medium-speed applications. The larger generators are primarily intended for offshore wind turbines with rated outputs between 6 MW and 8 MW, the company says.Â
According to Danotek, the 7 MW PM generator class builds on the foundations laid by the company's existing range of medium- and high-speed generators for onshore installations. Danotek says it is able to offer to wind turbine OEMs prototype systems that are fully optimized to the OEMs' requirements within 12 months. Â
The new product line can be scaled for both direct-drive and medium-speed drivetrains, the company adds.
