Capital Safety has released the ExoFit NEX Arc Flash harness, which is an extension of its DBI-SALA ExoFit NEX product line. The harnesses incorporate Nomex/Kevlar technology and feature flame-resistant and non-conductive properties, according to the company.
The harnesses are tested to perform in accordance with the recently updated ASTM F887-11 arc flash standard specification for personal climbing equipment, as well as ANSI Z359.1 and CSA requirements.
The harnesses are equipped with flame-resistant webbing. The exterior is made with Nomex, which features a Kevlar core and thread that provides 7,000-pound strength and flame resistance, according to the company.
In addition, the built-in arc flash rated trauma straps provide an adjustable, continuous loop that minimizes suspension trauma, while the integrated insulators prevent contact with the body, Capital Safety explains.
