Bud Industries Inc., a manufacturer of electronics enclosures, says its SNB sheet-metal box is now available in stainless steel. Constructed of 16-gauge, 304 stainless steel, the new National Electric Manufacturers Association (NEMA) box is ideal for harsh environments and applications where sturdy steel, security and a seal against moisture are required, according to the company.
Like other enclosures in Bud's NEMA box line, the stainless-steel SNB is suitable for use in a broad range of outdoor applications, such as wind turbines and solar power systems.
The SNB series has continuous welded seams and a hinged cover that has a watertight seal. The hinged cover clamps to the base with a keyed quarter-turn latch that requires a nontraditional key for added security. External mounting brackets allow the box to be mounted on a wall or panel without having to remove the cover and expose internal components to the environment.
The enclosure is designed to meet the requirements of NEMA 1, 2, 4, 4X, 12 and 13. UL listing is pending.
