BCC Products Inc./Blehm Plastics has developed a new low-viscosity epoxy adhesive/laminating resin for tooling and part bonding. BC5009 is an unfilled, room temperature curing epoxy system with high-performance capabilities, according to the company.
The product is designed for companies that need a 30-minute pot-life and easily applied adhesive for bonding items like tooling/modeling boards, mid-to-large epoxy parts and other typical bonding environments. BC5009 is easy to mix, can be applied by brush or trowel and has excellent adhesion to most tooling materials and applications, the company says.
The BC50009 system also has the advantage of being a color-indicated system, allowing for a visual indicator of proper mix ratio. A green hardener and amber resin, when mixed to the proper ratio, cures to light translucent amber.
