Avanti Wind Systems will install service lifts in two 3 MW prototype wind turbine towers that are being built by China-based Sinovel in Inner Mongolia.
‘Avanti Wind Systems already collaborates closely with Sinovel, and part of the new agreement also involves the installation of lifts and the training of the personnel who will work in the towers,’ says Peter Fejfer, general manager for Avanti Wind Systems.
Avanti service lifts run on a wire system independently of the ladders in the tower. The service lifts enable technicians to get to the middle and top of the tower without having to climb up the ladder, according to the company.
