Availon Inc., a provider of parts and services to the wind power industry in North America, has introduced upgraded line reactors for wind turbines. The new proprietary design features a higher rating of 450 A versus the standard 375 A, ensuring increased reliability during full power generation, according to the company.
To prevent short circuits caused by overheating, the line reactor has been redesigned with wider splits between the windings and special brackets with strategically positioned slots to optimize airflow.
In addition to these changes, Availon is also offering an upgraded cooling fan kit to be installed in the converter cabinet, allowing for more efficient air movement, according to the company.
