Apex Clean Energy has secured a multiyear contract with IKEA Canada to manage and provide remote operations for the Wintering Hills wind farm, located in Alberta.
The 88 MW facility produces enough power for approximately 26,000 Canadian homes. IKEA Canada recently secured a contract with current owners Teck Resources and TA Wintering Hills LP to take over the project; the transaction is expected to close next month.
The wind farm comprises 55 GE 1.6 MW turbines, each with a hub height of 80 meters.
Wintering Hills is the 11th project in Apex’s asset management fleet, which now totals more than 1.7 GW.
