Amazon Web Services has agreed to acquire 100% of the output from Pattern Development's Fowler Ridge IV Wind project, located in Benton County, Ind.

According to Pattern, the 13-year power purchase agreement also includes the renaming of the wind farm to Amazon Web Services Wind Farm. Pattern Development expects to begin wind farm construction in April and anticipates reaching commercial operation late this year or early 2016.

Upon completion, the Amazon Web Services Wind Farm project is expected to generate approximately 500,000 MWh of wind power annually, Pattern notes.

Pattern Development says the Amazon Web Services Wind Farm has been added by affiliate company Pattern Energy Group to its list of identified right-of-first-offer projects.
