New York City-based Alternity Wind Power, a late-stage integrated developer of utility-scale wind farm projects in North America, has announced the appointment of its first outside director, professor emeritus Benson Shapiro of the Harvard Business School.
Shapiro, a nationally recognized expert on marketing strategy and sales management, taught full-time at the Harvard Business School for 27 years.
Shapiro has served as a consultant to more than 300 companies, from start-ups to multi-national corporations, and is the author or editor of 14 books and 19 articles for the Harvard Business Review.
‘From a social, environmental and economic perspective, the renewable energy industry – particularly wind power – is one of the most exciting and promising areas today,’ says Shapiro. ‘It's an honor for me to be part of a company that is so well positioned to take advantage of – as well as contribute to – the explosive growth in this market.’
