Alstom Appoints Two Executives For North American Activities

Alstom, a provider of equipment and services for the power generation and rail transportation industries, has appointed two new company executives. Ruth Ravitz Smith will serve as vice president for government affairs, and Timothy S. Brown will serve as director of communications. Both will be located in Alstom's newly opened Washington, D.C., office and will be responsible for Alstom's North American activities in their respective functions.

Gauthier, president and CEO of Alstom. ‘They both bring extensive experience in their respective disciplines and join a global team responsible for ensuring that Alstom's voice is heard in important policy debates on energy and transportation issues.’

Smith is a senior-level, government relations executive with over 25 years' experience. She was a principal at Brown Rudnick in Washington, D.C., where she successfully represented a range of clients in the energy, financial services and transportation industries.


Brown has extensive experience in energy and environmental policy related communications. He most recently served as director of strategic communications for Exelon Generation.
