International law firm Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP says it has hired Jacob J. Worenklein as a partner in the firm's New York office.
Worenklein has over three decades of experience advising large energy and financial institutions on complex project finance transactions. He joins Ed Zaelke and Adam Umanoff as co-head of the firm's global project finance practice.
Worenklein's experience extends across both the legal and business sectors: He founded and headed the power and project finance practices at Milbank, where he practiced for 20 years; founded and served as chairman and CEO of US Power Generating Co.; headed global project finance and independent power at Lehman Brothers; and served as global head of Societe Generale's energy, power, infrastructure and project finance sectors.
