Seattle-based 3TIER, a provider of wind forecasting tools, and Matney-Frantz Engineering, a Bozeman, Mont.-headquartered developer of community renewable energy products, have agreed to a three-year Firstlook Wind Assessment partnership intended to further develop and expand community-scale wind projects in the U.S.
Terms of the strategic partnership provide Matney-Frantz a discounted price on Firstlook reports, according to the companies. In return, Matney-Frantz has committed to deliver a set number of Firstlook reports for the next three years.
‘With Firstlook, we no longer have to wait to install and collect data from an anemometer,’ says Claud Matney, principal for Matney-Frantz Engineering. ‘Firstlook provides the assurance that our financiers need quickly and cost-effectively, allowing us to move forward with current opportunities at the community-wind scale as soon as they arise.’
