ZF Wind Power dedicated its new manufacturing facility in Gainesville, Ga., Tuesday, according to the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA).
The new plant, which represents a $98 million investment in construction and manufacturing equipment, is expected to employ 250 workers once the ramp-up to full production is completed.
‘The gearbox plant is a shining example of how wind energy is a real economic driver for America,’ says Denise Bode, CEO of AWEA.
Gearbox assembly at the ZF manufacturing facility is slated to begin in 2012.
