The Wyoming Game and Fish Department (WGFD) has extended the comment period on its draft document, ‘Wind Energy Issues: Impacts and Mitigation for Wildlife in Wyoming,’ until Feb. 1, 2010.
The comment period was extended to accommodate requests from wind industry and non-government agencies for more time to review the document. The document provides recommendations for assessing impacts to wildlife from wind energy projects, collecting data and mitigating effects on wildlife.
The extended deadline will also allow the WGFD extra time to prepare the final document to take to the Game and Fish Commission in March 2010.
