Gamesa has won a new order from industrial conglomerate Laugfs Power Ltd. for a 20 MW solar power plant in the Hambantota province of southern Sri Lanka.
According to Gamesa, its focus on the photovoltaic sector fits with the company’s strategic goal of its 2015-2017 business plan: exploring opportunities in businesses that complement the wind industry.
Under the new contract, Gamesa will provide turnkey engineering, procurement and construction solutions. The plant will commence operations by October.
