Lakeshore Technical College (LTC) in Cleveland, Wis., will offer a new wind energy program beginning this fall.
Career choices for wind energy technology program graduates include wind turbine technician, installation technician, operation and maintenance (O&M) technician and wind farm maintenance manager. Skilled technicians are needed for O&M activities in local, national and international wind farm settings, according to LTC.
Since 2004, LTC's wind turbine has produced more than 195,000 kWh each month. The wind turbine offsets a portion of the campus' electrical energy needs and is used for wind systems training.
