Wind Works Power Corp. Chooses Nordex Turbines For N.D. Project

Wind Works Power Corp. has placed an order with Nordex USA for up to 60 2.5-MW wind turbines for its Thunder Spirit project. The developer says the order will enable the project to maintain eligibility for the federal production tax credit.

Thunder Spirit, located in Hettinger, N.D., is a two-phase wind energy project totaling 150 MW. A power purchase agreement for the wind farm's first 105 MW was signed with Montana-Dakota Utilities Co. in October 2013.

‘With Nordex, we have developed wind energy projects totaling several hundred megawatts over the past 10 years, plus we have over 10 years of successful operational experience with this 2.5 MW class of Nordex wind turbines,’ notes Ingo Stuckmann, Wind Works' president and CEO.

Turbine delivery is expected to begin in June 2015, with project completion slated for the end of that year.
