A wind turbine from Europe was delivered to the Port of Cleveland on Monday. Representatives from Cuyahoga County, the Cuyahoga County Port Authority, Lincoln Electric Co. and the International Longshoremen's Association were on hand when the shipment arrived.
Cuyahoga County is providing a $350,000 forgivable loan to Lincoln Electric Co. for the purchase of the Kenersys Europe GmbH K100 2.5 MW wind turbine, which will be installed at the company's facilities in Euclid, Ohio.
The length of the blades is 165 feet and the nacelle is 278 feet. When installed, the turbine will stand about 443 feet tall when measured to the tip of the blade.
