Wind Project Inspires Formation of EOS Ventures

Launched as a result of the successful wind power installation at Jiminy Peak ski resort, EOS Ventures LLC is a new firm that will provide renewable on-site power generation solutions to large-scale energy users, including businesses, municipalities, schools and farms.

Tyler Fairbank, former president of Berkshire Economic Development Corp., is the CEO and Brian H. Fairbank and Joseph O'Donnell will serve in a business advisory capacity.

In 2007, Jiminy Peak was the first privately held company in the nation to install a megawatt-class turbine in order to generate its own power.

‘When we installed our turbine there was no road map – no company had done this before,’ says Brian Fairbank, CEO of Jiminy Peak. ‘We gained such knowledge during our own process and now want to fulfill a need for others.’

Although wind projects will be EOS' initial focus, biofuels, biomass and other renewable technologies will be included in the company's future plans.

The company will be located in Hancock, Mass., on-site at Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort. EOS has established a formal relationship with Sustainable Energy Developments Inc. of Ontario, N.Y., as its general contractor for wind projects.
