The Wind Energy TechnoCentre has received approximately C$11.5 million from Quebec's Ministry of Economic Development, Innovation and Export to help install measurement equipment at the Site Nordique Experimental en eolien Cours project. The wind project, which includes two REpower MM92 CCV 2.05 MW wind turbines, was constructed in January 2010 to study the effect of Quebec's climate on turbine performance.
The Wind Energy TechnoCentre will use the fund to install wind measurement towers, a laser wind measurement system and operation equipment.
