Wind Energy America has completed the commissioning of the first of two Gamesa G-87 2 MW wind turbines located on Buffalo Ridge in Osceola County, Iowa.
The company has been working with Outland Renewable Energy to retrofit and commission the turbines to achieve full commercial operation. Wind Energy America expects commissioning of the second G-87 turbine to be completed by March.
Energy produced by the project will be sold to Interstate Power and Light under a long-term power purchase agreement.
