WGES: 10,000 Residential Customers Enroll In Wind Power Program

Washington Gas Energy Services Inc. (WGES), a supplier of electricity and natural gas to business and residential customers in the Mid-Atlantic region, has announced that more than 10,000 WGES residential customers from Maryland, the District of Columbia and Delaware have made the switch to wind power. These customers are helping to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by purchasing 50% or 100% CleanSteps WindPower from local wind farms to meet their electricity needs.

In addition to the 10,000 customers who purchase 50% or 100% CleanSteps WindPower, all other WGES residential electric customers receive 5% wind power as part of their electricity supply. WGES began offering power from regional wind farms in 2002.
