Western Wind Energy Corp. has filed a final plan of development to the Bureau of Land Management to expand the capacity of the Mesa Wind Generating Facility in Palm Springs, Calif., from 30 MW to 50 MW. In addition, Western Wind received final clearance from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for the installation of new wind turbine generators up to a maximum height of 356 feet for the Windridge Generating Facility.
Located in Tehachapi, Calif., Windridge is a fully operational facility wholly owned by Western Wind. This final clearance by the FAA, Western Wind says, allows the developer to order new wind turbine generators for installation at the end of 2008.
