We Energies Wind Project To Use Alliance Of Wisconsin Firms

Milwaukee-based We Energies has developed a Wisconsin-based alliance to design and build the Glacier Hills Wind Park, which will be located in the towns of Randolph and Scott in Columbia County.

The construction alliance will include The Boldt Co., Michels Corp. and Edgerton Contractors Inc.

The project is expected to produce up to 207 MW and cost between $335 million and $435 million, and should generate more than 400 million kWh annually.

‘Developing the Glacier Hills Wind Park through this home-state construction alliance will benefit Wisconsin's economy, while achieving a low-cost approach to generating more energy from renewable resources,’ says Rick Kuester, executive vice president of Wisconsin Energy Corp., the parent company of We Energies.

The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin issued approval for the project in January.
