Sun Prairie, Wis.-based Wave Wind, a wind energy service provider for planning, development, offloading, construction and maintenance for small to medium wind farms, has teamed up with Texas State Technical College (TSTC) to help the company develop and advance its wind energy training curriculum.
TSTC currently offers two levels of certificates for wind technicians, as well as an associate's degree program. The two-year program is to prime students for technical and, eventually, management positions.
Wave Wind is establishing a student sponsorship and apprenticeship program, as well as providing technical expertise for use in the classroom. To further this cooperation, Wave Wind has also enlisted the assistance of Fastenal, a distributor of fasteners and associated products, which will provide guest speakers on a variety of subjects.
