Vestas says it has received its first order for its V126-3.0 MW wind turbine, which was launched in September.
Under the contract, Vestas will provide three V126-3.0 MW machines to Finland-based TuuliWatti Oy. Delivery of the turbines is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2013. The contract also includes the supply, installation and commissioning of the turbines, as well as a six-year active output management agreement.
The V126-3.0 MW platform is designed especially for low-wind sites, and its rotor swept has been increased by 27% compared to that of the V112-3.0 MW turbine.
