Vestas will supply V117-3.3 MW wind turbines for the 122 MW Sorby wind project, located in Sweden's Ljusdal and Bollas municipalities. Vestas notes that it is the first use of the V117 in the country.

Turbine delivery is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2016, with commissioning expected to start during the second quarter of 2016. The contract includes supply, installation and commissioning of the turbines, along with a long-term service agreement.

The Sorby wind farm is being developed by Krafto Vind AB, which is also managing the wind farm's construction. Lastly, Vestas says the wind farm is being financed by Allianz Capital Partners – Allianz Group's in-house investment manager for alternative investments. With a combined generation capacity of more than 1.2 GW, it is one of the world's largest financial investors in renewable energy.
