Windpark Kalkriese GmbH & Co. KG has placed an order for 12 V126-3.3 MW turbines for a 39.6 MW wind park, located in Lower Saxony, Germany. The project will use Vestas' large-diameter steel towers (LDST) to achieve higher hub heights and increased annual energy production.
According to Vestas, turbine delivery is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2016, with commissioning expected by the end of the second quarter of 2016. Construction regulations at the site allow a tip height up to 200 meters – allowing plenty of room to use LDST to maximize energy output.
The contract comprises supply, foundation works, installation and commissioning of the turbines, as well as a long-term service agreement.
