Vestas has received a turbine order for what will be the company’s biggest U.K. onshore wind project to date.
SSE PLC has placed a firm and unconditional order for 53 V117-3.45 MW and 13 V112-3.45 MW wind turbines. The tip heights of the turbines will be 135 meters and 125 meters, respectively.
The 66 turbines, totaling 228 MW, will be installed at the Stronelairg wind farm in Scotland.
The contract includes the supply, installation and commissioning of the turbines, as well as a 20-year Active Output Management 4000 operations and maintenance agreement.
Delivery of the first machines is planned for the third quarter of 2017; commissioning is expected for 2018.
