Vestas has received a turbine order from a BlackRock-managed fund for the 46.2 MW Brotorp wind project in Sweden. Arise Windpower is in charge of developing the project, which is being built in the municipality of Monsteras.
The contract includes supply, installation and commissioning of 14 V126-3.3 MW turbines, along with a VestasOnline Business SCADA solution and a 10-year full-scope service package. Turbine delivery is planned to begin in the third quarter of 2015, with commissioning slated for the fourth quarter of that year.
"Brotorp is our first investment in Sweden, and it is a good opportunity for us to further extend our cooperation with Vestas, as it is in a market where Vestas has a well established footprint," says Rory O'Connor, managing director of BlackRock Renewable Power.
To date, Vestas says it has delivered about 1,500 wind turbines, totaling more than 2.4 GW, to Sweden.
