Vestas has received a 57.6 MW order for 32 V100-1.8 MW turbines for the Horse Butte wind project located near Idaho Falls, Idaho. Utah Associated Municipal Power Systems will develop the project and purchase all of the energy for its participating members.
The contract includes delivery and commissioning, along with up to a six-year service and maintenance agreement. Delivery of the turbines is scheduled to begin this year, and commissioning is expected in the second half of 2011. In addition to the 57.6 MW order, turbines may be added to bring the total project size to 99 MW.
The project will provide energy primarily to communities in Utah, as well as in Idaho, Nevada, Wyoming and California.
