Vestas Receives 73 MW Order For Greek Island Project

Vestas says Terna Energy has placed an order for the supply of nine V90-3.0 MW turbines and 14 V112-3.3 MW machines for a wind project to be located on Agios Georgios, an uninhabited island off the coast of Attica, Greece.

According to Vestas, the 73.2 MW order comprises supply, installation and commissioning of the turbines as well as a five-year service agreement.

Turbine delivery is scheduled for the third quarter, and the wind power plant is expected to start production by end of the year and be fully commissioned in the second quarter of 2016.

Terna Energy of Greece has installed more than 350 MW in the country and is a frequent Vestas customer, the turbine maker notes.
