Vestas has received an order from the North American division of E.ON Climate & Renewables for 109 units of the V82-1.65 MW wind turbine in the U.S. The wind turbines have a total installed capacity of 180 MW.
‘With this order, we are further developing Vestas' existing working relationship with E.ON in Europe,’ says Jens Soby, president of Vestas Americas A/S. ‘We are extremely pleased that we are now continuing this working relationship in the U.S. In 2007, the U.S. was the world's largest annual market for wind power, and this order supports our positive expectations for the future development of the country's great wind resources.’
The order includes supply and commissioning of the wind turbines and a five-year service and maintenance agreement. Delivery of the turbines is scheduled to begin at the end of 2008 and will continue through the first quarter of 2009. Commissioning is expected to be completed by mid-2009.
