Vestas has received an order to provide wind turbines for a planned project in Maine.
According to Vestas, an affiliate of Quantum Utility Generation – Passadumkeag Windpark LLC – placed an order for 13 V112-3.075 MW turbines for the Passadumkeag wind farm, located in Penobscot County.
Western Massachusetts Electric Co. has agreed to purchase the output from the 37.5 MW wind farm, which is expected to reach commercial operation later this year.
Per the agreement, Vestas will supply and commission the wind turbines and also service the project after its completion.
Vestas currently has 166.2 MW installed in Maine and announced an order for a 148 MW project near Oakfield, Maine in May 2014.
