Vestas has received a 180 MW turbine order from Australian customer Mt Emerald Wind Farm Pty Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of RATCH Australia Corp.
The V112-3.45 MW and V117-3.45 MW turbines will power the Mt Emerald wind farm, located near Mareeba in north Queensland. Vestas will also be providing engineering, procurement and construction services.
The turbine manufacturer will also provide a 15-year Active Output Management 4000 service contract, which includes a SCADA VestasOnline Business system for data-driven monitoring and preventive maintenance.
Vestas expects installation and commissioning of the turbines to take place in the second half of 2018.
“Once completed, the project will take Vestas’ total turbine installations in Australia to more than 2.1 GW,” comments Gerard Carew, Vestas’ head of sales and business development for the Asia Pacific region.
